Bringing Back Monday Musings

I really liked doing the (few) Monday Musings posts I did back over the summer because it was a bit like a brain dump. As we are getting more and more settled here in Hawaii (still sounds crazy to say that), I am going to bring them back.

This picture sums up both my feelings about Mondays, and Rigsbee’s feelings about everything.

Coming Up This Week:

  • We’ve been told so many times how we are an inspiration and we’re brave and courageous and all the other adjectives. I have a bit of imposter syndrome about this because I don’t feel that way, but I’ve been thinking about it long enough that I’m ready to put some of my thoughts down about this. So look for a post about that.

  • We’re under contract on a house. Yes, really. Remember how we said we were going to rent for awhile and take our time looking? Well, shockingly, things changed. I’m writing a post about why we decided to go ahead and take the plunge on homeownership again. We found a house last week and submitted an offer which was accepted on Saturday. Here’s to hoping for for as easy of a buying process as we had with the selling process of our Durham house.

  • I’m also going to share where we’ve been so far in exploring the island of Oahu. What we’ve seen, what we’ve thought, where we still want to go. And a bit of a geography lesson since this is probably the number 1 thing I’m asked about.

So if you’re counting, that means I’m committing to 3 more posts this week for a total of 4 posts in one week. WHAT?? Who am I? The simple answer is that I have too much time on my hands and need some more structure. So telling you that I’m writing these posts means you’ll hold me accountable.

Currently:

Reading: Just finished The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls. Funny, fascinating, and horrifying. Highly recommend.

Listening to: Season 7 of the 30 for 30 podcasts called Heavy Medals about USA women’s gymnastics. It was the only thing that kept me awake during the final hours of our drive from Denver to Los Angeles. So well done and so disturbing.

Watching: Just finished the last season of Schitt’s Creek on Netflix and I’m devastated it’s over. Amazing series. And David and Patrick might be my favorite TV relationship ever. I mean, these 2 clips get me crying every. single. time.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

❤️ Love is Love ❤️ ❤️ Love One Another ❤️ Special Moment on Schitt's Creek ❤️

I just watched those clips again. So so so good.

This is where we are most evenings around sunset, on OUR beach (the beach that is basically in our backyard).

We are headed out to the beach for the afternoon, but lots more coming this week, so I’ll talk to you soon.
